Are you looking for popular winter events to fill up your calendar? Eagle Creek Apartments residents live near one of the most eye-popping events of the season, Illumination: Tree Lights at the Morton Arboretum. So put on your walking shoes and stop by for a magical experience.

Illumination: Tree Lights at the Morton Arboretum

Illumination: Tree Lights at the Morton Arboretum is a 50-acre tree light display. Come see the interactive LED displays that light up the arboretum with holiday flare. As guests tread down the one-mile paved path, they will be able to view the beauty of trees in the winter as expressed through colorful lighting experiences. The brilliant lighting designs, trees that react to voice and touch, and the electrifying blend of riveting colors will leave you amazed.

New Experiences

HYBYCOZO, a Smithsonian-featured arts collective, created five sculptures for the Crown of Light experience this year. The displays investigate geometry through light, shadow, and perception. Each of the sculptures measures between 9 and 12 feet tall. The complex patterns on each colossal piece allow for light to simultaneously beam throughout the laser-cut designs. As a result, shadows form on the ground below. It creates a remarkable sight.

LED Glow Dancers

On specific days, visitors will be able to watch live performances by the LED dancers of Pyrotechniq Productions while walking the trail. Pyrotechniq is a performance company that combines dance, fire, and dramatic sound into their energetic choreography.

Pyrotechniq will be performing at Illumination from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on November 18, 25, and 30. Guests can also check them out on December 2, 7, 9, 30, and 31.

Ginkgo Room Events

Come enjoy live music in the arboretum’s Ginkgo Room restaurant. Musicians will be there every Wednesday from November 21 through December 19. Guests will be able to listen to musical groups including The StingRay’s and Breezeway Chicago.
