Reserve a Chair at the Farm-to-Table Dinner at the Morton Arboretum

Enjoy the Farm-to-Table Dinner at the Morton Arboretum!

Delicious dining is just around the corner when you live at Eagle Creek Apartments. On August 23rd at the White Pine Pavilion, The Morton Arboretum will be presenting their unparalleled Farm-to-Table Dinner. It’s a fun, lightly formal occasion for people in the community to celebrate good food.

The Menu

The Morton Arboretum’s Farm-to-Table Dinner always has a delicious menu full of nutritious food. The full menu is available here, but some of the particularly delicious plates include:

  • Rock shrimp with cheddar grits
  • Lake Superior rainbow trout
  • A delicious entree composed of the following: smoked filet, beet puree, pattypan squash, roasted and crispy potato, with balsamic demi.

The meal is rounded off with a blood orange panna cotta, and each course is accompanied by an appropriate drink. Of course, a full vegetarian menu is also available. It features a meal built around a charred eggplant entree (and the delicious panna cotta is the same!).

The Morton Arboretum

Before the incredible dinner, why not enjoy a nice walk through the Arboretum itself? Sixteen miles of carefully-constructed and maintained trails make it easy to see the beautiful landscape if you’re looking to travel on foot. If you’re lucky enough to return during the winter months, the same trails are available for skiing or snowshoeing.

But when you want things a little faster, the Arboretum also features nine miles of paved roads. That’s perfect for the intrepid biker or runner. Also, you can take a drive if you’d like to simply experience a brief tour before dinner.

One of the best parts of living in Illinois is how quickly the seasons can change. A few months after the Farm-to-Table Dinner, why not come back and see how the Arboretum looks in the winter months? The trails open up for skis and snowshoes once there are four inches of snow, which is pretty common.

Passport Europe Tasting

If the spirit of the Farm-to-Table Dinner sounds exciting, but you’re not too thrilled about the rest of the food, consider returning in September for the Passport Europe Tasting. With unlimited wine tasting and plenty of samples of beers from across Europe, you’ll feel like you have been whisked across the Atlantic.
